About Us

The Bowmen of Pendle & Samlesbury is an archery club, based in Nabs Head Lane, Samlesbury, near Preston. It is registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee and it is also registered as a Community Amateur Sports Club. In 2008 the club was awarded “Clubmark” status.

Club membership is in the order of 150. The catchment area is approximately 25 miles around Nabs Head Lane. Junior membership starts at the age of 8 and we have adult and junior members ranging from beginners to experienced, competitive archers.

Members can shoot at our ground at Nabs Head Lane 360 days per year. The other 5 days are designated as workdays, when members undertake repairs, maintenance and improvement work to the grounds and equipment.

Indoor shooting takes place at selected venues between, mid September and late March. Sighters are at 7:15 and we shoot until 9:30. [Indoor Shooting]
