About Us

The Bowmen of Pendle & Samlesbury is an archery club, based in Nabs Head Lane, Samlesbury, near Preston. It is registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee and it is also registered as a Community Amateur Sports Club. We are an “On Target” club and hold the Young People , Community and Performance specialisms.

Club membership is in the order of 150. The catchment area is approximately 25 miles around Nabs Head Lane. We have adult and junior members ranging from beginners to experienced, competitive archers.

The club holds competitions for its members, between April and September and in addition holds monthly handicap competitions throughout the year.

Members can shoot at our ground at Nabs Head Lane 360 days per year. The other 5 days are designated as workdays, when members undertake repairs, maintenance and improvement work to the grounds and equipment.

Indoor shooting takes place at our own purpose built indoor range.

The club runs regular Beginners’ Courses, details can be found by clicking [Beginners]

It also holds taster sessions, both at the club and at away venues. Details for these events can be found by clicking Have A Go

To further promote archery, the club has links with South Ribble Borough Council and also a number of schools.
